Ceramics by Al-Zaytun
"Every piece of pottery tells a story, the story of the artist who created it, but also the story of all those who have been modelling clay for thousands of years. Earthenware clay has been utilised by humanity since the dawn of civilisation, it connects us with the earth, with the primitive and the ancestral. Pottery has been part of all cultures worldwide for more than 30,000 years. Clay is a unique material because of its ability to bend, be polished, stretch, tear, break, be pinched, drip, crack, mould and retain a human fingerprint. It thrills me to feel the clay, its voice and its expression as I shape it with my hands. When a piece of pottery passes from my hands into yours, a new story is formed.
